[curves] Suggestion for research topics in cryptography.

Hello guys,

I have just joined this mailing list although I have read some previous discussions, courtesy of HN, even though I understand very little about cryptography. So one of my goals is to learn a lot more about cryptography, at least enough to find vulnerabilities in systems.

The reason I am writing to you guys today is that, I will be working on a research project for my final year of engineering. I have chosen cryptography as my research domain.
For this reason I am looking for some suggestions regarding the exact subject I should research. I would be very grateful if you could help me out in finding a direction for myself.

Please do bear in mind that I am doing an undergraduate computer science engineering course, so please suggest something appropriate.

Your help would be highly appreciated.
