Hi Chris, just noticed this. We are working on general (not
PGP-specific) commercial app [1,2] that splits any keys/files/photos
into Shamir's shards and monitors the health of distributed shard
backup stored on friends & family mobile devices.

Based on your description, sounds like our app will just work out of
the box for you: drop PGP key (or any valuable key) into the app or
take a pic of backup QR and then we take care of everything else,
including the disaster recovery when your original phone is destroyed.
